Hi, my name is David I’m the developer of Parkhorse. I’m a veteran web developer who enjoys making games as a hobby. Originally from the UK, I now call Australia home.
Parkhorse is a game that was inspired by many of the parkour games you find within Minecraft. One afternoon in April 2022 my daughter and I could not stop laughing as we failed miserably at parkour course after parkour course on Minecraft. That lead us to joke “wouldn’t it be funny if a horse played this, they could call it Parkhorse”, from that moment on the idea stuck.
Parkhorse isn’t the first game I’ve created, Sheepgame was originally created in 2000 as a Flash game and has since had 4 player overhaul and can be downloaded for free on Steam and Xbox marketplace. I’ve also produced other small games aimed at kids and designed to bring them together with their parents. Parkhorse is the closest I’m getting to creating my first game using a 3D engine.
There’s still a long way to go with Parkhorse, when I’m developing a game there’s a switch in my head that tells me “you will finish this” or “this is no good, stop now”. At the moment, the Parkhorse switch is stuck on “you will finish this”.
